Happy Mothers' Day!

Today was another red letter day!  The Lifepoint staff's spouses (all wives and one husband--mine!) "brought it" today at Lifepoint by sharing the victories, struggles, ups and downs of life as a mom.  It was fun, funny, inspirational, motivational, sad and bittersweet at times, but overall it was just a gift to all of us who had the pleasure of being there.  My amazing (and HANDSOME) husband did a great job as "Ryan Seacrest" and facilitated as these amazing women talked through their stories.  Jen, Lindsay, Donna, Mia, and Tammie--you girls were wonderful today and I was humbled and inspired by your authenticity on that stage.  You are all beautiful friends, fabulous mothers, and amazing people and I am  honored to know you all!  Your children are blessed to call you "Mom" and one day they will rise up and say that themselves.  

A dear friend of mine visited Lifepoint today and emailed me after the service this morning saying her cup was "full."  Thank you all for being so faithful and willing to share your lives with the rest of us.  You truly make a difference!

And CONGRATULATIONS to Ashley and Dustin--what an honor it was to be in the "cloud of witnesses" this morning as you got engaged!!  Can't wait to see how God will continue to use you together.  We celebrate with you and will keep you in our prayers! 

What's old is new again

Yesterday we kicked off our new series, "Old Time Religion" with an awesome Sunday!  We are indeed a "new school" church--but we are grounded in values from the "old days," making "Old Time Religion" relevant and current.  What's old is new again.  Pastor Daniel really has a gift for being able to speak clearly to people who are in so many different places in their lives.  I believe many lives were changed yesterday as we all lean into surrender and what that really looks like.  How refreshing to think of surrender not as something someone is taking from us, but as something God wants to give to us!  But that was only the beginning.  I can't wait for you to see all that we have planned for the rest of this series, and especially for Easter Sunday!  There are some amazing things cooking!  Josh's new video for Lost in Fredericksburg.com was amazing, and I hope it will "find" many people hungry and excited to be a part of what we are experiencing at Lifepoint.  You do NOT want to miss the next three weeks.  Invite, invite, invite your friends, neighbors, family, co-workers, and everyone to come to this--Easter weekend is going to blow us all away! 

April 5th we will be having only ONE service, at 10:22 am.  This one especially, you will want to be a part of.  Don't miss it!!!

We are embarking today on our 21-days of fasting together to pray for the heart of God to penetrate us and this community as we ramp into Easter.  I honestly can't wait to see what He will do with me--with us--with Lifepoint--and with this community!  I want that fire to consume me.  I am praying especially for two friends who are very dear to me, as well--I hope I will be able to introduce you to them on Easter Sunday!!

Momentum

Our "Momentum" meeting and St. Patrick's day celebration last night was a huge success.  Thanks so much to all of the leaders who showed up!!  I think we might have turned Ukrops upside down!

I'd like to point out that my team won the Lucky Charms challenge!

Honor. . . Passion. . . Generosity. . . we're hearing a lot about that lately.  And I see it all the time in so many of our volunteers.  It's truly an honor to serve with you guys!

Don't forget that we are not just organizing team members to get a job done.  We are feeding sheep.  I'm so proud of so many of my leaders who I see doing that on a regular basis.  Remember that picture of "The Good Shepherd" who knows all of His sheep by name--they know His voice and follow Him.  Jesus says in John 10, "But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger's voice."

So don't be a stranger!  You are doing so much more than scheduling team members. You are your brother's (or sister's) keeper!

Spring Forward

This is my least favorite of the time changes, because it means one hour less sleep. . .but here's the good news:  No, it's not about the light of day later at night, I couldn't care less about that. . .It's that if you DO remember to turn your clocks forward an hour and if you DO get out of bed and make it to Lifepoint Church, one of Pastor Daniel's most powerful messages yet awaits you. . . and that's not all!  There is a SURPRISE in store for those who sacrifice the hour of sleep and make it to church in spite of the whole Daylight Savings time nonsense.  (I'm not even sure that's what it's called.) 

Yes, it's a very GOOD surprise, too.  You will be sad if you miss it!

Call, blog, facebook, text, email, or twitter someone you know at Lifepoint and remind them about the time thing, but more importantly, encourage them not to miss tomorrow, either.  It is going to be amazing.  And you know when we say that, it usually turns out to be true.
